Technical difficulties are threatening my Transformation Tale.
1, Oy, I’ve been going strong since July only to have my fitbit die on me. Have any of you experienced the progress bar of death? It happened to me and I’m feeling the pain. Pedometer apps only do so much – as in about half of the steps you are actually getting. It’s frustrating to say the least. So, I’m guessing on my steps. I have a relative idea of how much I need to walk in a day and try to stay on track with that but I can’t say for 100% certainty that I’m hitting 10,000 steps a day.
2. Hootsuite changed the number of tweets you can schedule with a free account. I’m in no position to upgrade so I can only schedule thirty tweets at a time. This is not good for my social media efforts. With two accounts (@tracebroyles and @booksbyviolet) I cannot schedule many tweets at a time. Given that this month is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo or just NaNo), my daughter has basketball and softball, and my son has a choir concert, his clubs, and more, I have zero tweets some days.
What IS Working
Morning pages are officially a habit. I write every morning (some days later than others) but I do it daily and it makes a genuine difference. As you can see, I maintain my blogs though admittedly with the help of friends and family. I don’t see any complaints though, especially when Autumn takes over. Yoga is not as frequent as I’d like but it is NaNo and that means all bets are off with most things. I figure, it is not a terrible idea to commit to one month of furthering my writing, my dream. It does mean that I am writing every day.
The Bottom Line
I am not where I want to be at this point. While I would like to say I am at peace with that, I’m not. I have to work harder. Some of my goals are now habits and that is an excellent step in the right direction. But, if I’m being honest with you and with myself, I have a long way to go do hit my August 2018 goals. My hope now is to make it through this month with my current goals-turned-habits intact without losing to much ground on the other goals so December can be at time of really pushing forward.
