National Trail Mix Day – Kid Kitchen Tutorial

Kid Kitchen Tutorial Trail Mix

Trail mix is one of my favorite roadtrip snacks, I can’t travel without it! I remember when my grandma used to make all of us trail mix for the road. Now, me and my brother make her trail mix for her and everybody else! They all love when we make them some because they know we make it special for each person. It is always a delicious treat to have with family and it should be the same for you! ┬áLet me show you how I make mine:

How I make my Trail Mix

My trail mix is always something delicious to have and any kid or adult will love the snack! I use 2-3 kinds of candy and 4-5 kinds of crackers just so there is a variety. Though I like to mix things up (see what I did there), today’s mix is:

  • Goldfish crackers
  • Mini Peanut Butter Cups
  • M&M’s
  • Pretzels
  • Cheez-it crackers
  • Teddy Grahams

After you choose your ingredients it is time to start putting your trail mix together. Put one thing at a time and only use 1-2 handfuls of each, you need to be able to mix it up! I usually use a ziploc bag to put everything in because it is disposable but you can use any container you want.

Build Your Trail Mix

Now, once all of the ingredients are in the bag, close it up and shake it so everything gets mixed well and you don’t have a handful of only pretzels. When you finish shaking the bag should look something like this:

Finally it is time to give it to your family, store it for later snacking, or enjoy it during a movie. Whatever you choose to do with it just be sure to enjoy every bite of your home made trail mix!
