A very happy birthday to my oldest – Autumn!
She’s always been stubborn, willful, and hungry to learn but also quick with a hug or supportive cheer for anybody who needs it.
I am so proud of the young woman she has become. Autumn is thoughtful, kind, helpful, creative, and one of the hardest working kids I’ve ever known. She doesn’t care if people tell her she can’t do something.
This is a kid who loves to read and write – she even helps with this blog! She posts book reviews and thoughts on teen fiction. As I’ve discussed before, this new 7th grader will take 8th grade language arts, math, and social studies this fall. She’s also starting some college courses through the College Credit Plus program.
I’m sure I sound like I’m bragging – who wouldn’t brag about a kid like this? She’s not just a “brain” either. You can find her on the basketball court or softball field several times a week.
Despite being told she can’t do something, this is a kid who takes it as a challenge. Please, continuing telling her what she cannot do, nothing motivates her more. Did I mention she can cook, bake, and sew? That’s right, she made this costume!
